The Port of Miami is an important port with cruise lines. In fact, dozens of cruise ships use the Port of Miami every week to access a wide array of vacation destinations. If you are planning a honeymoon cruise, you might find yourself starting at the Port of Miami. For the best honeymoon cruise experience, it is helpful to familiarize yourself with the port as much as possible beforehand.

The Port of Miami is the headquarters of a number of cruise lines, including: Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Seabourn Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Oceania Cruises, and Windjammer Barefoot Cruises. Not every cruise line is headquartered in Miami, but many do offer itineraries starting from the port.

Most Port of Miami itineraries involve tropical destinations, such as southern, eastern, and western Caribbean sailings, as well as trips to Mexico and to the Bahamas. While in Miami, there are a number of sites to see. One of the most popular is the South Beach Art Deco District, which offers a square mile of1920s-1930s retro style, colorful architecture. Miami also offers a number of shopping opportunities, ranging from malls to boutiques, as well as upscale restaurants. Lodging is also abundant in Miami, making it possible to arrive a few days before or after the cruise departure.

Finding the Port of Miami

If you fly to the Port of Miami, you will arrive at the Miami International Airport. From here, you can take a taxi or shuttle bus directly to the port. Located only 10 miles away, it won’t take long for you to arrive.

If you choose to drive to the Port of Miami, you can park in the provided lots at a rate of $12 per night. The fees can change, however, so it is best to call ahead to be sure.
